Collaboration in Enablement: Potential for Huge Performance Improvement

Tamara Schenk, Research Director

“Collaboration” is a term that is often used but rarely defined. It means different things to different people. For some, it just means working together. Others think collaboration is an IT tool, and others think it refers to everybody discussing everything with everybody on the team. That’s not collaboration.

Collaboration is not important for its own sake. The purpose of collaboration is achieving better results, ideally in a shorter amount of time.

It is necessary to point this out, because if we could achieve the best results in the shortest amount of time by working alone, why would we ever collaborate with other teams, other roles or even partners? Let’s define collaboration specifically: why to collaborate (goals to be achieved), and how to collaborate (roles, teams, principles), and in which areas to achieve these goals. As an example, collaboration in a strategic account environment to drive 20% in revenue growth is different from collaboration within an enablement function to provide integrated content and training services, or collaboration in product development to develop a product innovation. The goals will always be different, and the roles and teams that are required to collaborate will be as different as the necessary collaboration process. Imagine the collaboration framework for a new product launch, the collaboration framework for creating a new value messaging playbook, or the framework required for account management to achieve 20% revenue growth in a strategic account. Collaboration frameworks, especially those in enablement, have to be tailored to the specific scope and challenges in a certain organization, always based on an enablement production process.

Keir Jones does a great job of marketing and promoting his State Farm agency in Long Beach, CA.  Keep and eye out for Keir's large format banners at schools around the city.  Also, if you see his red State Farm wrapped Fiat, give him a wave. (He won't be talking on his phone while driving).

Below is a marketing tip from Keir about focusing on the benefits of what you are offering.

Thank you for voting us 'Best of Long Beach for Insurance'!

Market Your Business Better in 2015

Want to grow your business in 2015? Here's a great marketing tip: When speaking with potential customers, focus your language on the benefits of what you have to offer, rather than the features.

Example: rather than only telling people about the insurance products I offer (a.k.a the features), I focus on the benefits. I let people know when they work with our agency, they'll have peace of mind knowing they're protected, and will feel comfortable knowing we're only a phone call away.

Ok, shameless plug....sorry! But take a few moments to write down the benefits of your business and start communicating them in 2015!

Acquiring Business Leads and Referrals Out of the Blue

Acquiring repeat referrals and lead generation requires both trust and business relationship development.

Our business model introduces our clients to professionals in business categories who can provide them repeat referral business.  However, are referrals guaranteed just because two businesses are synergistic?
No, the trust factor has to be established. We need assurance that the people we send to our contacts to for service will not come back to us with a complaint.

Beginning a new business relationship is not too difficult these days.  We can quickly and easily research each business online. We can form an opinion based on what the business has posted. However, gaining true insight and understanding about a business philosophy requires one on one interaction.

Therefore, a little bit of reaching out is needed to start that new business relationship which in the long run will develop into leads and referrals that come
“Out of the Blue”.  For many business owners this involves stepping out of a comfort zone and making a self-introduction to a potential Power Partner.

Breaking the ice is needed and Power Partners USA is there to help.

Remember, leads and referrals is a two way street.  Our next article will touch on some of the mechanics for generating leads and referrals.

By Alan Armijo - info@powerpartners.us

Power Partners USA accepted the
30 Day Blogging Challenge from Jackie Nagel at Synnovatia for the following reasons:

  1. Blogging requires that you put together your ideas and summarize those ideas or concepts into an article that is useful to the reader.

  2. Blogging helps with Search Engine Optimization.   Keywords used within the content of the article will pull your website up when someone types in those exact words or “user search term” (see: Shocking News: Keywords Don't Matter!)

  3. The blog will be beneficial for promoting our Power Partners USA clients.

  4. The blog article will be the content and landing page for our email marketing campaigns

  5. We can easily repost the individual blog article to our social media accounts.

  6. We can take the blog and feed the article to other sections of our website using an RSS feed.

Our Power Partners USA blog will be up every other day for the next 30 days.  We will also be blogging every other day from our Tech International blog page.

So as long as our New Year’s resolution to blog for 30 consecutive days does not go the way of our gym membership, look for our informative Power Partners USA blog articles at

How to Multiply yourself with Video Marketing

9/14/2014

Video Marketing is the only way to multiply yourself.
Did you remember the 1996 movie called “Multiplicity?” In this movie Michael Keaton plays the role of a busy businesses man, husband and friend.
He finds that he can’t keep up with all of the demands of these roles and so he clones himself. In business we wish that we could find ways to be everywhere, all the time.

Video Marketing is the solution.
By producing one or a series of corporate videos you can be sprucing your message 24/7. So, while you’re sleeping or on the golf course, someone, somewhere can be experiencing “meeting” with you.
Okay, watching a video of you is not quite the same as a one to one meeting, but it is the second best option. There is no other marketing tool that allows the prospective customer to feel as though they are really sitting in the same room as you. Great marketing needs great copy, and professional images. Streets ahead of both of these is succinct, professional video.
What type of businesses benefit from online video:

Service Providers
Do you have a service based business? Do your clients choose you based on your expertise, qualifications and experience?
There is no better way to demonstrate these qualities than a brief video.

Furthermore, your clients will make their final decision on working with you, not just because of your qualifications, but because they feel they “Know, Like and Trust” you.  These are the irrefutable characteristics required for people to do business with people.
Video allows you to engage with prospective customers when they are in buying or research mode, even though you may be asleep!

Product Videos
Does your company sell a product? Do you sell your product online? Cisco Research has shown that people who view a product video are 64% more likely to purchase than if there is not video.
Harvey Normal ran a split test on a landing page with our product video and also ran a test landing page without our video. The results? The number of sales on the page with the video was double the number of sales on the page without the video. Needless to say the online marketing campaign was launched and run completely and successfully with the product video.

Corporate Video builds trust
Video builds trust and engages your audience on your website for a greater amount of time. The net result is that your potential clients move rapidly along the spectrum from stranger to client. Being everywhere all the time. Video is the marketing tool which will allow you to duplicate yourself and therefore duplicate your earnings capacity.

Your clients and potential clients love video
As with all technology the first companies to embrace the new are called “early adapters”. Very soon however, it won’t be only the early adapters who are using video marketing. Cisco statistics estimate that by 2015 approximately 90% of internet traffic will be video! Massive. Your clients expect you to use video in your marketing, and very soon websites lacking video will be considered “old fashioned”
Visitors to websites with video spend approximately 6 x longer on sites with video. This leaves a fairly obvious clue: your customers love watching video, so intelligent businesses offer videos!
Is it time for you to get into video and trail the results for yourself?
Multimedia content – we aren’t only interested in your words. We’d also like to hear from you if you have videos, photography
