Our first Power Tie Give Away on Nov. 2, 2016 at Poly High School was a ringing success. We presented to Ms. Libby Huff's class who were preparing for an outside business related field trip.
We accomplished our goal of reaching out to young, male students and providing them with information and a useful, necessary skill they can use and apply as they move forward in life.
1. Power Partner Professionals Present - Get the Message Across
Poly High Freshman and Sophomore students first heard from business professionals. The professionals explained why and when they wear a tie and how they view themselves and others in a necktie.
2. The Give Away and Training
Each student selected a tie from one of several donated to PPUSA. The professionals then divided up the class into smaller groups and gave them first hand instruction on how to tie the necktie. Every student was attentive, eager to learn and they even helped each other out.
Included with the tie was a free haircut at Envy Beauty Studio in downtown Long Beach.
3. The End Result
The students realized the reasons and benefits of owning and wearing a necktie.
We interviewed students for their reaction and feedback. You could see their sense of accomplishment in learning how to knot their own necktie.
No more clip on ties for these young men. Each student walked out with a new appreciation for dressing professionally. They also now have a new tie to add to their collection. They felt confident that they could tie their own necktie and were looking forward to representing themselves in the best light possible.
The professionals all felt good about their contribution and plan on attending the next Power Partners USA Power Tie Give Away.

4. Applying their New Skill
The timing for our message and Power Tie Give Away was perfect. Students wore their ties the next day to a professional business event which required them to dress for success and represent themselves well.

Save Time On Outbound Marketing While Still Making an Impression. Or, Face Time without the Drive Time
Below is a short excerpt from business coach Jackie Nagel’s blog post at www.synnovatia.com.
Jackie extols the power of blogging in lieu of face to face networking. At Power Partners USA, we could not agree more – to a point. We are seeing first-hand and in only two weeks how inbound blog marketing is bringing us more website hits, positive brand awareness and new business opportunities. However, we do know the importance of business to business networking and have a solution for having “Face Time without the Drive Time”. At Power Partners USA, our business model implements interactive introductory videos to temporarily replace that first time networking introduction with a short but in-depth video introduction. The video provides the viewer insight into a potential business partner without risking any drive time or business time losses for either party. If the video content resonates, an in person meeting or phone call is arranged to take the business relationship to the next step.

Stop Wasting Time
Content creation, along with an inbound marketing strategy, can be challenging for those who routinely do business face-to-face and belly-to-belly. Having launched our business in 1997 using an outbound marketing strategy (i.e. attending networking events, etc.), we understand fully how to get results from offline networking. Over the years, however, we’ve questioned the real ROI on face-to-face networking. It’s the dirty little secret no one wants to admit. (Click to Tweet)
Given the amount of time required to drive to and from an event, plus the cost of the event, parking, and meal and/or refreshments, networking events have to produce a better ROI. This is especially true if you live in LA, like we do, or another large metropolitan area, where a 10-mile jaunt across town can eat three hours out of your day.
I don’t know about you, but I’m just not willing to give up that much of my time sitting in a car.
Below are examples of Power Partner USA interactive, introductory videos from Power Partners in our network.
