Taking it on the RoadOn March 20, 2020, The Male Leadership Academy students will be traveling and conducting the Power Tie Giveaway at three area Junior High Schools. These schools are Lindbergh, Lindsey and Hughes Junior High Schools. Our Goal of Reaching More Students is Making Progress

They are taking on the responsibility and challenge of walking into classes of 30+ students and accomplishing their mission of teaching fellow students the knot tying skill. As an example, in just one hour, these kids gifted donated ties and taught over 70 other Jordan high students how to knot the necktie.

Power Partners USA visits Millikan High School for another Power Tie Give Away – It Was a Blast!2/28/2020 Our Power Tie Give Away on February 21, 2020 at Millikan High School was a fun time. We presented to Mr. Kyle Heinrich’s Male Leadership Academy class of over 30 young men. We accomplished our goal of reaching out to young, male students and providing them with business mentorship and a useful, necessary skill they can use and apply as they move forward in life. 1. Power Partner USA Professionals Present - Get the Message AcrossMillikan students first heard from two business professionals, one LBUSD administrator and one Cal State Dominguez University student. The Mentors explained why and when they wear a necktie and how they view themselves and others in a necktie. Each mentor also explained their professional background. 2. The Give Away and Training Each student selected a tie donated by business professionals, doctors, teachers and who wanted their tie donation to go to a good cause. Brand new ties were also available to take. The class was divided into smaller groups and the mentors gave the students first hand instruction on how to tie the necktie. Every student was attentive, eager to learn and they even helped each other out. 3. The End Result - Discussion and Q and AThe students appreciated receiving a quality necktie and being taught how to knot the tie. The question and Answer session shared the reasons students selected a particular tie and how they plan on using it. Their their sense of accomplishment in learning how to knot their own necktie was apparent. Students have a new skill and ready to use it. Each student walked out with a new appreciation for dressing professionally. They also now have a new necktie to add to their collection. They felt confident that they could tie their own necktie and were looking forward to representing themselves in the best light possible. Our Power Tie Give Away on October 23, 2019 at Jordan High School was another Power Tie Giveaway success. We presented to Mr. Bryan Carter's Male Academy class of 16 young men. We accomplished our goal of reaching out to young, male students and providing them with business mentorship and a useful, necessary skill they can use and apply as they move forward in life. 1. Power Partner Professionals Present - Get the Message Across Jordan students first heard from four business professionals. The professionals explained why and when they wear a necktie and how they view themselves and others in a necktie. Each business mentor also explained their business background.
2. The Give Away and Training Each student selected two ties from one of several donated ties. One was brand new and the other a tie used and donated by a business professional. The class was divided into smaller groups and the mentors gave the students first hand instruction on how to tie the necktie. Every student was attentive, eager to learn and they even helped each other out. 3. The End Result The students realized and shared the reasons and benefits of owning and wearing a necktie. We interviewed students for their reaction and feedback. You could see their sense of accomplishment in learning how to knot their own necktie. Each of the students had the chance to tell us their college or work goals. Students have a new skill and ready to use it. Each student walked out with a new appreciation for dressing professionally. They also now have two neckties to add to their collection. They felt confident that they could tie their own necktie and were looking forward to representing themselves in the best light possible. View the Univsion Video and our "Making a Difference" Result of the Power Partners USA Power Tie Giveaway for RJ Donovan Correctional Facility Inmates in San Diego.Power Partners USA delivered 40 more Power neckties to complete the 100 requested by Julie Eramo at the California Dept. of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The ties will be handed out to inmates interviewing at the 1st Annual Employment Fair on April 11 at the RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego. Alan Armijo, president of Power Partners USA, requested that Julie inform the inmates that the “high-quality, silk neckties are true Power Ties donated by professionals who wore them with a suit. Professionals who graduated from top-notch universities and have been successful in various businesses.” Heidi Nye, publisher of Alamitos Bay Neighbors, solicited and donated 20 ties specifically for this program. "These men have served their time," Heidi says. "Now it's their time to serve their communities by becoming gainfully employed. I hope these ties help facilitate that transition." Heidi's monthly magazine serves the affluent Long Beach neighborhoods of Naples, The Peninsula, Spinnaker Bay, Spinnaker Coves, Bay Harbour, La Rochelle, and Marina Park.
