A Unique Learning Experience The students we worked with were freshmen and sophomores enrolled in an Urban Agricultural Pathway—a dual-enrollment program that earns them college credit in horticulture at Long Beach City College. These young minds were preparing to showcase their innovative landscape design projects at the John Glenn High School Landscape Design Symposium. Their designs focused on transforming large blank spaces on campus into community gardens and outdoor learning areas—spaces that would encourage interaction, education, and sustainability. These students were taking their ideas from concept to execution, mirroring real-world project development.
