Instead of the typical background playlist, we hired a live band.
 
Joan Jones  (www.clubjoan.com) and her band provided great music throughout the evening. Joan began with a collection of songs that created the perfect atmosphere while everyone networked and got acquainted. As the evening progressed, the energy shifted. Joan started playing her Hits, the sound was bouncier and people started moving, and before long the dance floor came alive. What began as a networking event turned into a genuine Power Partners USA celebration.

One aspect of the project that stood out was Dan's collaborative approach when hanging the artwork. Rather than simply placing each piece on the wall, he worked closely with Valerie to position every piece exactly where she wanted it.

Together they explored several placement options until she found the arrangement that best complemented her home.
 
As with many home improvement projects, Dan made an initial visit to evaluate the electrical work before returning to complete the installation. The majority of the work was completed during a single five-hour service visit, allowing Valerie to complete several items on her home improvement list in one appointment.
 
The finished result transformed the appearance of Valerie's home by adding the final details that brought everything together.

Recently, Power Partners USA donated 75 neckties to the Young Panthers Boys Mentorship Program at PURCHE Elementary School in Gardena, CA for its annual Power Tie Giveaway and Tie Ceremony.

The ties were presented as part of the PURCHE’s Young Panthers Boys Mentorship Program's where students in grades three through five learned to knot it alongside their fathers or other positive male role models.   
 
According to program coordinator Richard Gatewood, the Young Panthers Boys Mentorship Program focuses on building leadership, brotherhood, academic achievement, positive behavior, and accountability among its students. Beyond learning to tie a necktie, participants also develop problem-solving and strategic thinking through chess, gain financial literacy skills, learn the importance of personal hygiene and professional appearance, and build confidence through daily mentoring and community circles.

Power Partners USA is honored to support programs like the Young Panthers Boys Mentorship Program because it prepares young people for success throughout their lives.

We thank Richard Gatewood and everyone at PURCHE Elementary School for making Power Partners USA a part of their meaningful program. We also applaud the fathers, mentors, and volunteers who helped make the Power Tie Giveaway a memorable experience for these young men.

A Structured Hiring Process
We provided Candace our goals, the responsibilities of the position, and the type of personality and communication skills we were looking for to represent Power Partners USA professionally.

Her recruiting process included candidate interviews, communication assessments, and evaluations of professionalism, responsiveness, initiative, and overall fit.

After carefully screening candidates, Candace presented us with three highly qualified Virtual Assistant candidates to interview.

The decision proved more difficult than we anticipated because all three candidates were exceptionally qualified. Rather than rushing the hiring decision, Candace arranged a second round of interviews with each candidate. That additional interview process gave us a much better understanding of each person's communication style, personality, and overall fit for our organization, and ultimately helped us identify the type of candidate we were looking for.

Following the second interviews, we selected Deb Pangan, who consistently demonstrated strong communication skills, professionalism, initiative, and an impressive ability to learn quickly.

Candace also explained that her hiring process doesn't end after the placement. If a client later feels that a different personality or skill set would be a better fit, additional qualified candidates are available and replacement candidates can be provided if needed. Knowing that level of ongoing support is available gave us additional confidence throughout the hiring process.

Immediate Results
Deb immediately began supporting Power Partners USA by making outbound cold calls to businesses, introducing our organization, and learning about each company's networking, marketing, and referral needs.

Her responsibilities include:

Sometimes a project seems simple until it is time to lift a large television, locate the wall studs, install the mounting hardware, and make sure everything is level, secure, and positioned correctly.

That was the situation when we decided to upgrade our home office by mounting a large television that had previously been sitting on a swivel stand. While we already had the wall-mount bracket, we wanted the installation done properly and safely.

Around the same time, we had recently welcomed Dan Kahara, Owner of Harbor Home Repair, as a new Power Partners USA member. As we were getting to know Dan and learning more about his handyman services, we discovered that TV mounting is one of his specialties. Rather than tackle the project ourselves, we decided this would be a great opportunity to experience his work firsthand.

Dan arrived prepared, carefully removed the television from the existing stand, installed the wall mount, and secured the TV exactly where we wanted it. Throughout the process, he took the time to protect the surrounding furniture and ensure everything was level, secure, and professionally installed.
 
The finished result gave the room a cleaner, more organized appearance while freeing up valuable desk and cabinet space. Most importantly, the television is now safely mounted and positioned for comfortable viewing.
 
We were very pleased with Dan's workmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail. The project was completed efficiently, and the pricing was very reasonable for the quality of work provided.

During a recent trip to Budapest, Hungary Alan and Debra Armijo had the opportunity to meet with Balazs in person and learn more about the work he has been doing throughout Europe. What started as a conversation between fellow Notre Dame alumni quickly evolved into discussions about international student-athlete opportunities and how Power Partners USA could help identify referral partners, strategic relationships, and opportunities to raise awareness about educational and athletic pathways available throughout Europe.

Many athletes and families automatically focus on opportunities within the United States. However, Europe and other international markets offer a wide variety of academic and athletic opportunities that deserve consideration.

Many of the athletes StudyNSport assists are highly capable competitors who are looking for an alternative pathway beyond traditional NCAA recruiting options. Some may be under-recruited, limited by roster restrictions, seeking more affordable educational opportunities, or simply looking for ways to continue competing after completing their undergraduate degrees.

Unlike the NCAA model in the United States, many European countries operate through independent sports clubs that work alongside universities. This allows student-athletes to pursue their education while continuing to compete at a high level through established club systems.

For some athletes, particularly those competing at higher levels, opportunities may also exist to earn compensation through club competition while continuing their education. Depending on the sport, country, and level of competition, Europe can provide opportunities that are simply not available through traditional U.S. pathways.
